Chilomastix mesnili is a flagellate that parasitizes the intestine of humans.
The cyst of Chilomastix mesnili is ingested. It excysts in the small intestine of humans. There it multiplies asexually by longitudinal binary fission. It now exists as a trophozoite (the feeding stage) in the lumen of the colon. The trophozoites and cysts are expelled in the feces of the human. In the external environment, the cysts are ready to be ingested by another human host.
